Well Michie is just a hard ride for the most part. We tried to miss the bottom but ended up crossing it anyway. I was asked to stay out of the creek as much as possible and I did for the day ride. We only rode down to the first bridge. But that afternoon we went back and rode about 5 more miles down the creek and had a ball. During the day ride we crossed a bottom and the creek was nothing less than a hard afternoon of work! But man we crossed the bottom and the creek after shooting a large cotton-mouth snake. We had to drop each ATV off into the creek one at a time. The bridge was in to bad of shape to try and cross. One bridge fell in as Butch and a few others were the last to try and cross it. Ridge road and the pipe lines were a nice break from all the hard riding we did. I never said Michie was a easy ride! The talk-about radios were a must. Just asked the crew that didn't have radios. After 1 1/2 hour break and a good fish dinner in Michie between rides a few of us went back out on the trails until 10 pm. A few crashes during the day. No one hurt to bad with our crew. One of the guys from Olive Branch took a bad spill and I think he will get a trip to the E.R.
Thanks to everyone that worked hard to keep everyone going. A few new ATVers to club riding. A word to them. Not all rides are this hard. But to ride with the Shoals ATV riders a good running ATV with good tires are just about a must!
I hope to see everyone at the Coal Mt. ride July 31.
