The Shoals ATV Riders had 30 ATV's on the club ride. 175 miles from Corinth and around 115 miles from Muscle Shoals.It was a little hot but the weather was fine for the middle of June. The rain held off. The trails were in great shape thanks to Charlie Payne and his friend that spent several days clearing down trees off the trail. We rode 18 miles and I only know of one ATV that turned over. 2 ATV's over heated. The creek was a little to deep to cross. But Charlie Payne had to try it anyway. We took our lunch break back at the camp store of which we rode our ATV's down to. So some got plate lunches there to eat. This was the first time our club rode Guntersville AL and I know we will be making more trips there in the future!
Thanks to the trail Bosses. You did a great job. Everyone stayed together very well. Anyone that had trouble was helped and the ride kept going. Lots of hills and rocks, they were a challenge at times but that is what makes a ride even more fun! Great photo was taken at a hunting cabin, where we took a short break. The woods had a thick campy so most of the trails were in the shade. The next time we go I hope the club will try and have a campout and stay the weekend.
Well our next club ride is July 17th @ Michie TN. This is just north of Corinth MS. Remember all members are welcome to come stay in Corinth for the weekend. Lots of room here at THE Shipman's for anyone that wants to camp or pitch a cot in the den.We are going to go out on a short ride on Friday afternoon to Iuka or Hatchie. A fish fry or and outing at a local restaurant Friday night. Saturday's ride will start in Michie around 8am. Ride till that afternoon. Return to the trucks, eat, gas up and go back out for a night ride. If you have never rode Michie at night, well it is something you want soon forget!
