Thank you Mike Shipman, for a great guided tour of the Chickasaw State Park. We had 30 ATVs to dare the challenge. No one hurt riding ATVs, but a young lady was thrown from a horse. She was in luck, our own Ken "Doc" Young was doing what he does best, taking care of the injured. Ken, just a little talk from behind the back -- all the members feel at ease and laid back when you're within sight, or at least within radio communication. Thanks, we all appreciate what you do and your interest in the club. A future ride for the Chickasaw State Park is again in the planning stage.
-- Happy 4-wheelin', Butch Whitehead --

Well we are back home and the ATVs have been cleaned and are ready for the next trip. But let's look back on the Chickasaw trip. Several made the trip on Friday and a few, Ricky Pounder's and his son made a week trip out of it. Some camped in tents, some in campers and some in cabins. Hey, some just missed the cabin thing because all the cabins were full, all but 1 cabin that was a no-show @ 4pm. So Shoals members got the last cabin. Five of us road Friday afternoon for about 18 miles. We had 25 AtV's hit the trails at 9am Saturday morning with about 30 members. The weather was great, the trails were dusty. Most of the trails were wide open and great for the 2 wheel drive ATVs. We did find 3 or 4 trails that were really good riding and went through one bottom that got most 2Xs stuck and a few 4Xs. Lunch break we were entertained by a lady that was thrown from a horse and once again here came Ken. We hit the trails again and broke up ito 3 groups and rode till about 3pm. Most members had a 2 hour drive home but some of us stayed another night at the campground. We cooked out and sat around the camp-fire.
Until LBL, sincerely,
Captain Mike Shipman
