Man what a ride ! I dont really know where to start. What started out to be a review ride
for the Shoals ATV Riders turned out to be a great day of riding for everyone. The drive
from Corinth, MS is around 200 miles but a few stops along the way and the good meal at
Loretta Lynns with our great friends from the Shoals ATV Club made this a great trip. We
spent the night at a motel that over looked the KY river. The next morning after a fine
breakfast we all loaded up and took a short trip to the visitors center, then 2 miles down
the road we checked in at the rangers station. We got our maps and unloaded. There were a
lot of people already riding in the area. I saw a man on a new polaris 700 so I had to go
check it out. Well he and his friend asked if we wanted to ride with then? The ride was on.
I dont remember how mant ATV's was in our group, I guess 15 to 20. LBL had it all. Mud,
hills, creeks, shore line, woods, places to ride fast, places to ride slow. I rode 26 miles
saturday and I cant wait to go back. I have heard the Shoals ATV Riders are looking to have
a ride in Sept. or Oct. there. This will be a ride you dont want to miss. The next time I go
I want to take my camper and camp at the riding area. I only seen one crash Sat. We had split
into two groups that afternoon and we came up on one another on a main dirt trail. It lookes
as if the front ATV's were slowing down to stop, but two or three atv's back did not stop far
enought apart. A yamaha warrior ramed into a honda doing damage two both atv's. Both riders
were unhurt.
I can tell you now this is one great ride and I look foward to going back!!! A big thanks
to all the Shoals ATV club members that went to check this out and each one of you and this
a great weekend.
